Who can participate

BuySellTrade is for adults aged 18 or older in the United States, subject to availability in the areas and categories we support. Email verification confirms control of an email address; it is not an identity, ownership or trust guarantee. Keep sign-in codes private. Do not evade restrictions by opening another account or using another person's access.

Listings permitted for review

List consumer goods you own or are authorized to offer. Describe condition, material defects, included parts and the requested price or trade accurately. Use photos and other content you have permission to share. A listing may offer a sale, trade or giveaway, or describe something you seek. Do not imply BuySellTrade has inspected or guaranteed an item.

Supported consumer-goods categories include Tools; Home & Furniture; Electronics; Sports & Outdoors; Musical Instruments; Clothing & Accessories; Collectibles; Trading Cards; Sports Cards; Appliances; Toys & Games; Baby & Kids; Books & Media; Garden & Outdoor Living; Arts & Crafts; Pet Supplies; Vintage; and Miscellaneous. Availability may change or be paused. Category labels never override prohibited-item rules.

Consumer-goods listings do not accept live animals, employment, property or service offers. Those topics may be submitted only in their designated Community sections when those sections are available. Vehicles and event-ticket sales remain unsupported; placing them in Miscellaneous does not make them eligible.

Prohibited listings and conduct

The following are prohibited on BuySellTrade, even where an item might otherwise be lawful:

• Stolen goods, counterfeits, items offered without authority, and misleading authenticity or ownership claims.
• Recalled products, products subject to a sale ban, or goods whose condition makes their intended use unsafe. Do not conceal damage, tampering or missing safety components.
• Firearms, ammunition, explosives, weapons, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, tobacco/vaping products, alcohol, prescription drugs, and medical products requiring specialist controls.
• Animal sales, breeding offers, human remains or body parts, protected wildlife products, and hazardous materials requiring special handling or transport. Permitted adoption and rehoming posts are limited to the Community pet-adoption section under the rules below.
• Personal data, account credentials, financial accounts, payment instruments, identity documents, or access to someone else's property or systems.
• Sexual services, exploitative content, illegal material, and offers facilitating fraud, theft or violence.
• Investment schemes, money transfers, loans, gambling offers, event-ticket sales, and employment, property or service offers outside their designated Community sections.
• Harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, impersonation, doxxing, spam, fake reviews, fabricated transactions or attempts to manipulate moderation.

Do not publish home access instructions, ticket barcodes, financial information or another person's private information. Do not demand sign-in codes or passwords in messages. Buyers and sellers should establish the item, condition, price and collection arrangements before agreeing to a transaction.

Review, reporting and appeals

New listing submissions may request publication after automated checks. Eligible submissions from previously reviewed members can publish automatically; other submissions remain private for staff review and owner publication. A sample of eligible submissions is held for staff review. Approval is a moderation decision, not a product inspection or guarantee. Staff may pause a category, restrict participation or remove visibility when reviewing a concern.

Use the report control for a listing, conversation or comment and provide relevant facts. Do not include unrelated personal information. Report history is available to its reporter; staff review access is restricted. Eligible report appeals receive review by someone independent of the original decision. For access problems or other questions, use Support or contact@buyselltrade.co. The service is not an emergency response channel.

Community sections

Community is organized by state and city, with Discussion, Local events, Housing, Roommates, Jobs, Gigs, Local news, Pet adoption and Services. Post in the area and section that accurately describe the content. Do not duplicate a post across unrelated areas. Members and active temporary participants can submit posts and replies. Community posts and edits require review before publication; replies may be reviewed after posting. Published posts expire after 30 days or at temporary-pass expiry, whichever comes first. Edits do not extend the original expiry.

• Discussion and local news: distinguish firsthand observations, questions and linked reporting. Credit sources and link to the original report; do not copy articles without permission or publish private information, harassment or unsupported accusations presented as established fact.
• Events: describe the organizer, date, location, costs and attendance arrangements accurately. This section announces events; it does not permit ticket resale or imply that BuySellTrade organizes or guarantees an event.
• Housing and roommates: state whether you offer or seek housing and describe price periods, deposits, availability and material conditions honestly. Do not post discriminatory exclusions or misleading availability. Have authority to advertise the property or room. Do not request identity documents, account credentials or payments through a public post.
• Jobs and gigs: identify the employer or hiring party and accurately describe work, pay basis and requirements. No advance-payment employment schemes, misleading earnings claims, pyramid schemes, unlawful discrimination or unpaid work misrepresented as paid work.
• Services: describe your qualifications, service area, rates or quotation process honestly. Do not claim a license, credential or insurance you do not hold. Do not offer prohibited or unlawful services.
• Pet adoption: adoption or rehoming of companion animals only; no breeding, commercial animal sales, wildlife or protected species. Explain fees, known health and behavior concerns and care needs accurately. Do not describe an adoption fee as a donation to a charity unless that statement is accurate. Buyers and adopters must make their own suitability and welfare checks.

Use Report for a concern and Block participant to limit interactions. Staff may remove a reply without removing its parent post. Contact Support to dispute a community decision; include the post link and relevant facts. Do not include unrelated private information. Community is not an emergency response service. Review does not verify identity, professional qualifications, property authority, animal health or the truth of user claims.
