How to write a useful classified listing

Help buyers understand your item with a specific title, honest condition details and clear pickup expectations.

Start with the item

Use the item type, brand and model when you know them. “Black & Decker 20V cordless drill with battery” says more than “Great deal!” Avoid repeating keywords or making claims you cannot support.

Describe what the buyer will receive

List included accessories and missing parts. Give measurements for furniture, size for clothing, and model numbers for electronics. Say what you tested and disclose damage or faults.

Set clear expectations

Choose the correct category and listing type. State whether your price is firm or you welcome offers. For trades, explain what you are looking for. Share a general pickup area, not your home address.

Keep the listing current

Reply to questions, correct mistakes, and unpublish an item when it is no longer available. Clear, current listings save everyone time.
