How to take clear photos of items for sale
Show buyers the whole item, its details and any flaws with clear, honest photos.
Start with a clear overall photo
Use daylight or even room lighting and a simple background. Fit the entire item in the frame. Wipe the camera lens and check that the image is sharp before uploading.
Show the useful details
Add other angles, model labels and included accessories. Photograph scratches, wear and missing parts. Avoid filters that change the item’s appearance.
Keep private details out
Check for addresses, shipping labels, keys, documents and reflections before posting. Cover serial numbers or personal information that does not need to be public.
Use video when it helps
A short clip can show movement or operation. Keep the item visible and demonstrate only what you can safely test. A video is additional information, not a guarantee of condition.
